At present, if you want to change the sensor input that feeds the Energy Dashboard (i.e for Solar Panels), when you pick the new input sensor to use and remove the old one, all existing data related to energy per hour, day, week, month that the Energy Dashboard has shown gets deleted.
I would like to see an option to retain the data that has been recorded whilst still allowing to clean-up the dashboard's configuration to only list the most current sensor inputs for the Energy Dashboard.
Example for this ask. I have been using the original YAML based integration for my Sigenergy Solar+Battery system and would like to transition to the revised integration using HACS. In doing this, the sensor names need to change and the YAML integration needs to get deleted, this means that I loose the last years worth of Energy data that has been collected in Home Assistant.
