@clin1234 Looks like pip install plotly[kaleido] fails because orjson fails to compile from source on your machine.

If a precompiled binary exists for orjson for your system you can force pip to use it with:

pip install plotly[kaleido] --only-binary orjson .

Hopefully that works; otherwise you may have to seek help from the orjson folks as I'm not sure. (Although based on the error output it might be worth trying Python 3.13 rather than 3.14.)

This is also probably because OP is trying to install for the free-threaded build (3.14t). A large number of packages aren't compatible with the free-threaded build yet. In particular, orjson readme states that it may support the free-threaded build when that's stable, and related issues have been closed as "invalid" or "not planned" in the meantime.

I'll be taking a look at the json deps, maybe we can improve free threaded compatibility. But it may be a tall order depending on how entrenched the deps are.

orjson is a nicely organized json serializer. msgspec for example is 20k lines of c in a single file (its the best API but honestly thats also a security concern).
