Hi @navnandys. Thanks for your PR.

I'm waiting for a kubernetes member to verify that this patch is reasonable to test. If it is, they should reply with /ok-to-test on its own line. Until that is done, I will not automatically test new commits in this PR, but the usual testing commands by org members will still work. Regular contributors should join the org to skip this step.

Once the patch is verified, the new status will be reflected by the ok-to-test label.

Is the bump of github.com/coredns/coredns from v1.11.3 to v1.12.1 backwards compatible? Looking briefly at https://github.com/coredns/coredns/releases it seems so, but IIRC there have been some surprises in this respect in the past.

Since go.mod is modified, go.sum probably needs some modifications as well (e.g. in the corresponding lines), and similarly for the vendored directory. Possibly some dependencies of coredns need to be bumped as well.
