Instead of converting
char* -> double -> PyFloat, we're now convertingchar* -> PyUnicode -> PyFloat. The added benefit is that thePyFloat_FromString()function tolerates leading and trailing whitespace, aligning with the behavior of theINTopcode and the Pythonpickleimplementation ofload_float().FLOATopcode inconsistency with whitespace #135580
