Hi,
When clicking on a point of a scatter plot inside a shadow dom, the mouse coordinates are shifted ~100px in the x and y directions, which either leads to no click event or a click event on a incorrect point. The bug doesn't occur when hovering however.
Here is a codepen showing the problem: https://codepen.io/0074d9/full/wvPzmLy (left: without shadow dom, right: inside shadow dom). The shift is visible on the tooltip after clicking on a point, as well as on the logged coordinates of the point.

Hi - we are trying to tidy up the stale issues and PRs in Plotly's public repositories so that we can focus on things that are still important to our community. Since this one has been sitting for several years, I'm going to close it; if it is still a concern, please add a comment letting us know what recent version of our software you've checked it with so that I can reopen it and add it to our backlog. Still an issue in 3.0 and it's become a blocker for me, I'm going to see if I can fix it.
