The regression has been fixed in 0.26, maybe you want to update your constraints and comments:
pytest-dev/pytest-asyncio#706

@reneleonhardt, this is a dev dependency on the 2. x branch, which is the legacy version of prefect. We use the most recent version of pytest-asyncio on main, the version under active development, and I don't think it's necessary to update the pytest-asyncio version when the 2.x test suite runs fine as is. If you need to use the latest version of pytest-asyncio on the 2.x branch, please submit a PR.
