Pass Parameters to CLI for Injection

Hey, I have a configuration file with URLs / tags that looks like this:

Is there a way I can run the apprise CLI and pass the value of gmail_app_password as a parameter?

No, but the file can safely hold your password as long as you have chmod 600 on it.

Hi, I'm not the OP but my use is this: I use a self-hosted ntfy.sh server and my config contains an access token and a topic to which to send the notification. Then in my various Bash scripts I add additional info, for example a link to click on. Every time my script runs the link is different so I cannot hardcode it inside the apprise config.

Apprise CLI does it's best based on the environment variables to guess the location of the a configuration file it can find and read. But if called from a cron, or SystemD, sometimes there isn't enough information available to determine the path. You could always just add --config=/path/to/config in your script call to Apprise to help it out. Then you can just continue to centralize it's location for all the spots you need to call it from

My config looks looks like this:

   - ntfy://tokenxxxyyy@mynotifyserver.com/apprise

Normally, I would append ?click=https://example.com to the end of the config line, but my link differs every time I call my script so I cannot hardcode it there. My script looks like this:

# processing here
apprise --body "$BODY" --title "$TITLE"

What I want to do:

# processing here
apprise --body "$BODY" --title "$TITLE" --params "click:https://example.com"
