As a developer, I would like to be able to specify how long my client should wait on a connection to the database before it fails and throws an error; so that I can control my customers' experience.

@jeremylorino Just to be clear, you're doing a get() call and wanting it to fail either faster or slower than 10s?

If it's helpful, you could basically accomplish this by using .onSnapshot() to listen for events, and then creating your own setTimeout() trigger.

I would like to fail longer than 10s (yes that's a loooong time). As a sdk consumer, I do not want to manage more moving parts by cleaning two event handles (onSnapshot, setTimeout). Especially when the sdk allows for the get func to encapsulated the desired functionality. Thanks!
