Upgrading package_info_plus dependency

Current Limitation

The package_info_plus dependency is still on 5.x.x while the latest is 8.x.x. This has become a issue for maintaining the dependency on the app since right now, more and more packages' latest version doesn't support 5.x.x anymore.

Feature / Enhancement Description

Upgrade the dependency to latest.

Example Use Case

Make it compatible with other packages.

Alternatives / Workarounds

I have override the version number right now and to bypass, but I would be appreciated if it can be upgraded

I am having the same issue, package_info_plus conflict with flutter_inappwebview 6.1.0 (was released 2 months ago) and some other libs. The latest versions of them will fix running on iOS 18 devices.

The package_info_plus package uses Min Dart 3.3.
According to our support policy, support for this version is possible in Jan 2025.

Given it is now February, are there any plans to upgrade this dependency?

I am getting warnings about privacy manifests from Apple about this package:

Missing privacy manifest - Your app includes “Frameworks/device_info_plus.framework/device_info_plus”, which includes device_info_plus, an SDK that was identified in the documentation as a commonly used third-party SDK. Starting February 12, 2025, if a new app includes a commonly used third-party SDK, or an app update adds a new commonly used third-party SDK, the SDK must include a privacy manifest file or you won’t be able to submit the app for review in App Store Connect. Please contact the provider of the SDK that includes this file to get an updated SDK version with a privacy manifest. It's now May, well past Jan 2025 and this still isn't updated. I'd also like to point out that this causes a dependency on discontinued "js" package when using both parse_server_sdk and parse_server_sdk_flutter:

parse_server_sdk_flutter 9.0.0 requires package_info_plus ^5.0.1 and sembast_web ^2.2.0
package_info_plus 5.0.1 requires web >=0.3.0 <0.5.0
sembast_web required idb_shim
idb_shim requires web and vresion 2.3.2 can use web <0.5.0, but also has a js dependency

idb_shim 2.5.0 removes the js dependency but also requires web >=0.5.0 which conflicts with the package_info_plus 5.0.1 requirement of web <0.5.0
