Mismatch in Copilot Usage Documentation and UI #37973

@hubwriter

Description

@hubwriter

There is a mismatch between the documentation and the UI for monitoring Copilot usage. Specifically, in the "Monitoring your Copilot usage and entitlements" guide, step 3 says:

Under 'Usage by product', on the 'Copilot' tab, you can see the total cost of the additional premium requests you've used this month. Click View details to view a breakdown of the amount of additional premium requests you've used.

However, this doesn't match the current UI. The user interface displays an entry labeled 'Usage', and after clicking on it, users are redirected to a 'Metered usage' page. This page allows grouping by product and offers filtering options by date.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Navigate to the "Monitoring your Copilot usage and entitlements" section in GitHub Docs.
  2. Follow the instructions for monitoring usage.
  3. Observe that the described UI elements and navigation do not align with the current functionality.

Expected outcome:

  • The documentation should reflect the actual UI behavior for consistency and clarity.

Actual outcome:

  • Users see different UI terminology and navigation options than those described in the documentation.

Request:

  • Update the documentation to align with the current UI, or clarify any discrepancies with screenshots or additional details.

Thank you.
