CodeQL alert: Incomplete string escaping or encoding

Problem Description

In a forked version of this repo, we noticed that CodeQL has a finding: Incomplete string escaping or encoding. Perhaps this can be addressed so that consumers of this repo don't have to remediate it themselves.

A possible way to fix this is to change the code to this.
