Cannot add jira site in vscode 1.92 on windows 10 WSL 2

Cannot add jira site with usernanme/password or API token.
Get Authention error.
Error authenticating with Jira: Error: socket hang up

update:
upgrade vscode to 1.100.2, same problem while adding jira site
the same jira site URL and API token works fine in pycharm and eclipse
wondering if there's an option to set the proxy server for the plugin

@hsheng can you share a couple more details:

• Are you on jira cloud or jira server?
• If on server, what version of server are you on?

EE Jira 9.12.8 server
In eclipse and pycharm jira plugin, there are fields to set the proxy server.
I've tried a couple other jira extensions in vscode, none of those extensions has a place to set the proxy server and all of them have the same problem.
I work on WSL2 and docker container running on WSL2, not straight on windows 10. On WSL terminal and inside docker container, I need to set the proxy-server to have access to jira server.
