Screen doesn't automatically scroll when using mouse to select text if the status bar is disabled.

• VS Code Version: 1.100.3
• OS Version: Linux Mint 22.1

When I try to select text that is under the current visibility of the page, for example the most I can see is from line 1-25, if i try to select lines 23-31 with my mouse, the screen doesn't automatically scroll down as it should, instead it stays stuck there if I have my status bar visibility disabled. However it works when I enable it.

I did run vscode without any extensions and I had the same result.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Disable status bar visibility
2. Try to select text and move towards the bottom of the page with the status bar hidden.

Thanks for creating this issue! It looks like you may be using an old version of VS Code, the latest stable release is 1.101.0. Please try upgrading to the latest version and checking whether this issue remains.

Hi thanks, I used your settings file and I tested both on macos and ubuntu 24.04. The scrolling seems to work in both cases.

Could you please include a screen recording of your issue? Also there is a difference between user settings and workspace settings. Could it be you sent the workspace settings file?

I have the same problem as OP, on Ubuntu. The problem only appears when the window is maximized, because when the window is maximized and the status bar is hidden, the mouse cannot go "below" the editor, so the scrolling is not triggered.
