Reasons for the request

Dear lovely PyPI support team,

we just wanted to upload our project Supertask for the first time to PyPI. While it does not seem to be taken, it looks like it has been in the past for a while, so that may currently block our upload? 1

Because it looks like the other project has been abandoned, as it was possibly just a one-time stint, we wanted to ask if the name could be assigned to the real Supertask program we started to conceive the other day?

Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to look into this, possibly supporting us to unblock the package name.

With kind regards,
Andreas.

Repository: https://github.com/pyveci/supertask
Documentation: https://supertask.readthedocs.io/

We can't find a reference to the old one, as it apparently has been deleted from PyPI already.

Contact and additional research

Because we can't find any reference to the previous package, we haven't been able to contact any author or maintainer.

Footnotes

  1. We are sure there was no such project on PyPI when we started to conceive Supertask, but we know it is certainly "first come first serve", so it was our fault to not upload it to PyPI in time. Otherwise, it also could have been a name squat name squatting, empty packages, possible typo squatting, accidental or intentional ?
