Reason for request

I generated a secure password with a password manager on my personal device, while setting up the account on a work device. I entered the password on the work device and proceeded with the account creation. I then pressed save on my personal device to store the login/pass details and somehow the password manager changed the password it had generated for me in some moment in between, that I had not perceived. I have access to my email, entered into my account, but cannot verify the account because the password is a hash alphanumeric string I had not committed to memory in that brief interim period.
