Hello world exercise doesn't work

I was able to confirm yesterday that this timeout occurs on other exercises as well. I was able to use the test runner Docker image locally, and tests were passing well within the 20 second window. Recent CI runs don’t indicate any issues. I suspect perhaps there’s an issue sending the JSON results from the test runner to the website.

Well, to be fair local test runs tend to be a lot faster, sometimes even three times as long.

I suspect perhaps there’s an issue sending the JSON results from the test runner to the website.

Any update on this? The hello world exercise is still failing

I've done a little testing and it appears that the test runner is just too slow. Even when I run this locally, on fairly performant hardware (definitely better than what the Exercism servers run), it is very slow. So the best bet is for someone with in-depth Cairo knowledge to try and speedup the test runner.

Yeah, the version of Cairo you are using (2.9 I think) is fairly slow, even for the test runner. We are planning to improve performance for Cairo 2.12 that will be released later this month. Maybe we can revisit this then but it will require using a newer version of the Cairo compiler.
