Speaking of GitHub as a Fluid App, I’ve whipped up a better icon. This one looks nicer in the dock and doesn’t get lost if you have a dark desktop background. Here it is superimposed on a dark gray. Enjoy!

Nice. For fun, I started playing with other ideas that might be good for a dark background. Do what you wish with them. It’s the best I could do without spending too much time and without the original vector art.

Is there a way to update the icon without having to recreate the fluid instance? I have a bunch of customizations I don’t want to have to redo, but I want the new icon.
@seangeo,The easiest way without using external software that I know of is to first create a new dummy github fluid instance with the new icon. Afterwards, right click on the new application and “Show Package Contents.” You should find a Contents/Resources/appl.icns file that you can copy to the same location of the package contents of your original fluid instance (the one with your customizations). Finally, you can delete or AppZap your dummy fluid instance.
Thanks rmm5t!
You should be able to paste the PNG file on to the icon in the Get Info window in the Finder.
