Become a sponsor to Sander Saarend
Hey folks!
Thank you for checking out my GitHub Sponsors page!
You are probably here because you are interested in supporting https://lemm.ee, which is an instance of Lemmy, or because you wish to support the development of lemmy-ui-next, which is a custom frontend for Lemmy.
Your support is greatly appreciated!
You can sponsor with any amount you choose, and both one-time and recurring sponsorships are available.
If you choose to sponsor me, you are supporting me in doing the following work:
- Hosting and managing the infrastructure of lemm.ee (the infrastructure will be described in more detail below).
- Maintaining and developing lemmy-ui-next, as well as contributing to various other Lemmy repositories on GitHub.
- Regularly providing Lemmy-related support (technical and non-technical) to users and admins of Lemmy, both at lemm.ee and other instances.
Any sponsors will have not just my gratitude, but implicitly the gratitude of all lemm.ee users, as well as users of lemmy-ui-next on any other instance, as you will be directly responsible for enabling the existence of both!
Current lemm.ee infrastructure
For anybody curious, this is what the lemm.ee infrastructure looks like right now:
- Cloudflare for DNS (and all the Cloudflare protections)
- Load balancer
- 2+ servers for handling Lemmy HTTP traffic (scaled up and down as necessary)
- 1+ servers for handling outgoing federation (scaled up and down as necessarsy)
- 1 server for handling Lemmy scheduled tasks
- 1 server for image upload software pict-rs
- 1 relatively beefy dedicated server for our Postgres database
- 1 server for monitoring with openobserve
- Backblaze object storage for uploaded media
- Terraform cloud for infrastructure orchestration
- Postmark for handling e-mail to users
Why GitHub sponsors instead of alternatives?
Unlike most other similar platforms, if you're sending money as a regular user (not as an organization), then GitHub will take 0% fee.
