Describe the bug
Today I tried to use Vocabsieve (just like yesterday), but the "New Version Available" popup is unable to be closed, locking out the use of the program. The only way I can close Vocabsieve is force ending the process.

I also can't upgrade to the new version

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open Vocabsieve
  2. See error

Expected behavior
I could either ignore an update which isn't working or update properly.

Logs
This is the (end of the) error on install:

note: This error originates from a subprocess, and is likely not a problem with pip.
ERROR: Failed building wheel for evdev
Successfully built ebooklib mobi python-lzo
Failed to build evdev
ERROR: Could not build wheels for evdev, which is required to install pyproject.toml-based projects

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS
  • Vocabsieve version (if nightly, must be latest): v0.11.1

Additional context
The install issue doesn't seem to be a problem with pip, but my trouble shooting didn't help at all.

Unable to be closed? You mean it freezes or you just can't see the button to close it? Maybe we need a scrollbar, but on most Linux environments you can hold down Super or Alt to move a window by dragging it from anywhere to show the buttons.

Yeah, the x button wasn't doing anything and I couldn't scroll or resize the window to find other buttons. It was stuck how it opened.
