import MetalPetal successful but it shows Value of type 'MTIRenderPipelineKernel' has no member 'apply'

If you installed using Cocoa Pods, to fix this issue, add this to your Podfile:

pod 'MetalPetal/Swift'

The updated code is:

kernel.apply(to: images, parameters: params, outputDescriptors: outputDescriptors).first
