Many language-specific configuration files are currently not included in code statistics, such as NuGet.Config for NuGet and Cargo.toml for Cargo. While some of these files are recognized as corresponding files, others with specific suffix names such as .hintrc and NuGet.Config are not counted.
I believe that these language-specific or application-specific configuration files should be included in the statistics, as they contain important operations that contribute to the overall codebase. However, adding them directly to the statistics of their respective languages may not be appropriate. Therefore, I suggest implementing a language group feature that can count multiple types of sub-languages like Vue's and Jupyter Notebook's type-based statistics.
If this plan is feasible, I would be glad to assist in its implementation.
