Miltera Electronics and Software Technologies

Application to become an approved third party manufacturer as per HIP19.

Summary

Research and development will be lead by Miltera Electronics. Partner companies to assist in the product development will be Demsay Electronics and NextGen Consulting.

Miltera Electronics and Software Technologies was established on 2018, engaged in the embedded systems about cyber physical systems and gateways. Team members have been worked in the field of embedded linux about gateways, wireless router, POS(Point of Sale) and encryption hardware for more than 15 years. www.miltera.com.tr

Demsay Electronics established its Istanbul-based office in 2015. Our main field includes Sales-Marketing and technical support of electronic components and wireless communication modules. in this context we follow up our customers' IoT projects and we give them pre-sale design reviews.

Demsay Electronics have 15 years of experience in IoT products ( Cellular, LoRaWAN modules, Sub1-Ghz, Wi-fi, Bluetooth, GPS/GNSS module, Antenna-accessories)and component supply. Also we are working with Kerlink, Dragino, RisingHF, Seedstudio, RAK Wireless in LoRaWAN focus. Lastly we highly recommend you to watch video of our company for better understanding about us.

NextGen Consulting established in Santa Clara, CA USA in 2018. NextGen Consulting provides engineering consulting services in product testing and automated test platform development. Software solutions include automated testing of mixed signal devices.

  • How long have you been in business? Miltera was established on January 2018.
  • What kind of products have you created? Gateway for smart grids, POS(Point of Sale), Validator(Payment system for public transport system)
  • How many have you sold? We have about 5000 devices in the field.
  • What brought you to Helium etc? We have been focusing about LoRaWAN and blockchain technologies in our gateways. Helium has been on our radar for a while. We want to be a part of Helium and contribute to the peer-to-peer wireless market of the future.

  • Is this is Light Hotspot or Full Hotspot? (please submit two separate applications for Full and Light hotspots) This is full hotspot.
  • Is it for indoor or outdoor? It has outdoor option with IP68 box and GSM (4G Cat4) module.
  • Provide a brief description of what you're making. Our product is a stable and reliable complete indoor LoRaWAN hot spot device that supports Helium LongFi technology for fast access to the Helium network. The product is equipped with the Semtech high-performance 8-channel transceiver SX1302 chip, using a quad-core high-performance processor and security encryption chips, with efficient and reliable connection capability.

What is your approximate price point? (required)

We will sell our first generation product at around $550.

Please provide detailed hardware designs, including relevant parts (required)

Evidence of a functioning prototype - photos, videos. Renderings are OK but physical prototypes are much, much better. Your plan for software setup and configuration for the devices. This would includes remote updates and the ability for hosts to change wifi settings, via Helium's official app or otherwise. As Demsay, in line with IoT projects we provide technical service to our customers by our product experience, which include our 10 technical engineering staff, and company-customer relationships. Such as Design review, PCB assembly, SW technical support and and the other testing process.

We have a professional customer service team to provide customers with perfect pre-sales consultation and after-sales service. Customers can contact us by phone, email, discord and official website.

  • For how long? How are you planning to handle repairs and replacements? As general, we guarantee our products for two year just like we do after-sales service points in Turkey. We are planning o do the same as this

Hardware Security Element (required)

  • The community is concerned about devices that can be easily hacked, specifically by copying their swarm_key files. Applications should include plan for how the devices will be secured, potentially including:

  • Which LoRa chipset are you planning to use in your gateway (ie SX1302/03 & SX1250s or SX1301/08 & SX1255/57) We recommend you don't use the SX1301 in new designs SX1302&SX1250

  • Where are you sourcing your components from? We will do component supply within DEMSAY cause we have years of experience in component supply chain field. We have average turnover 35 Milion USD for this year.

  • How many radio modules/ concentrators can you procure? It is expected to produce 10000 units per year.

Manufacturing Information (required)

  • Have you built and delivered radio hardware products before? We have built and delivered industrial gateway that has RF.
  • Have you built gateways before? Yes, We have industrial gateway for smart grid
  • How many gateways did you make? About 5000
  • If you have not built gateways before, are you using a third party manufacturer? This is the single largest risk with most hardware ventures. If possible please provide information about your manufacturing partners and supply chain.

Proof of Identity

Per typical KYC/AML procedures, proof of identity for major shareholders (25%+ ownership) will be expected to be provided privately to representatives from Helium Inc or DeWi board members. This will be attested and publicly confirmed by those representatives, e.g. as GitHub comments. Contact details for this will be provided after your application is submitted on GitHub.

  • How many of these are you hoping to make and sell? Expecting to bring over 10000 units to market in 2022
  • How much money will be required up-front? How much money do you have on-hand, and how much do you have access to? We have funds on hand and require no additional funding.
  • What is your plan for additional financing if required? This is the second biggest risk in new hardware ventures -- getting almost over the line and then running out of cash. No additional financing is required.

Risks & Challenges (required)

Please tell us about some of the challenges that would prevent these products from becoming a reality and how you might address them. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many microchips are out of stock. We anticipate that this situation will last thru 2022.
