Known and use of short URLs

Is your feature request related to a problem?

Not a problem... per se, but something I would like to see... and this might not even technically belong here. What happens... I have a YURLS instance set up, and when Known sends posts to Twitter, instead of using my short URL... instead it will use the entire long one... by default.

Describe the solution you'd like

I would like the option of Known to somehow plug into YOURLS so that the short URL can be chosen when relaying posts to to other areas of the internet.

Describe alternatives you've considered

A clear and Only alternative I can think of is to leave it alone and not use a short domain.

Additional context

this is just something I was playing with... I would actually like to be the one that fixes it... I just need to know what parts of the API I need to focus on. I want to use this to help raise my currently weak PHP skillz.
