How to generate HTML test report files?

If we use mocha, we can generate HTML test report files by mochawesome. If we use node.js test runner, is it possible to generate the same report files as mochawesome does?

Node doesn't have a built-in HTML reporter, but it supports custom reporters 🙂
You could also try a package that can generate a HTML output from the output of one of the supported reporters, such as https://www.npmjs.com/package/tap-to-html or https://www.npmjs.com/package/junit-xml2html-converter

I notice that mochawesome-report-generator can take the JSON output from mochawesome and generate a HTML/CSS report. So, the question becomes to this: Is there any way to generate a JSON output?

I do not know of any existing tool that would create that output, but the test runner allows using custom reporters, which means you could write a reporter that fits your needs 🙂

You could base on the official reporters as an example:
