Hi, when opening an issue please include your log and parameter files, otherwise, we can only speculate what went wrong. Your laptop/computer might not have enough memory to run with high order. Here you find a description of the parameter file: https://seissol.readthedocs.io/en/latest/parameter-file.html |

As Nico has pointed out, high order versions of SeisSol might not run, because you do not have sufficient memory.
To what part of the documentation do you refer to? We put a lot of effort into maintaining a reliable and up-to-date documentation. If you tell us, what parts are contradictory, we can fix it. I heavily assume, this is not a general problem with the software, but more a problem of how to use SeisSol, so I am going to convert this issue to a discussion. Without further information, we can't help you, though. |

I have just started to learn to compile and run seissol on ubuntu systems, I have compiled seissol on my personal laptop as well as my desktop computer, and I encountered the same problem when I tried to run the first example. I found that only when the initiators I compiled with order2 finished running, the initiators I compiled with order3 and order4 were killed in the process. In addition, in the output file I compiled with order2, I am missing the 3D wave field output (.xdmf) listed in the official documentation, which does not appear to be a usable calculation.
I would like to ask if the missing output file is related to the order I chose at compile time? How do I output 3D wave field output (.xdmf) correctly? What can I do to make order3 and order4 available? Thank you.
