The convention in most audio software is to allow manipulation of the playhead whilst loops are active. For example in Garageband

  1. If the playhead is inside a looped region and it is moved inside that region by dragging with the cursor, the playhead will jump to the cursor position and then continue looping
  2. If it is moved before the loop playback will continue until the loop is reached and then looping will commence
  3. If it is moved after the loop normal playback proceeds.

We could implement a similar system in IL. In particular, if the playhead is moved inside a looping scene, looping should continue. I'm not so sure about '2' though.

Needs some thought...
