Have you added bumblebeed to your DAEMONS as described at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bumblebee?

yes i added bumblebeedin my rc.conf file
Many time i launch /etc/rc.d/bumblebeed restart but no effect

after doing so, check your logs. Don't look at the bottom, but from the point where you restarted things. E.g. use tailf /var/log/everything.log to watch your logs.

After installing dkms-nvidia, you might need to run sudo dkms autoinstall.

Unrelated to this issue.

Is the FPS better or worse than running it plain? What is the difference?

@Buckyngham
Copy link
Author

The FPS is worse with optirun and without( 4 - 8 ). It's like im running with my intel chipset. but the log prove that the nvidia card is actived right ?
I dont know if i must update nvidia-utils-bumblebee to nvidia-utils because nvidia-utils-bumblebee is marked out of date.

@Lekensteyn

304.37 is the newer version, you can update the PKGBUILD yourself. Could it be that flightgear is a 32-bit application? If so, you also have to install the relevant 32-bit libraries. See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bumblebee

@Lekensteyn

lib32-virtualgl does exist: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=52473
I mentioned the newer version since the current packages are flagged as outdated. Use ldd and file to find out what file you are playing with and install additional libraries if necessary.

@Buckyngham sorry for the delay. I updated nvidia packages in AUR. Maybe try again?

I installed lib32-virtualgl and updated the nvidia-bumblebee and nvidia-utils-bumblebee package but no effect on my game.

Hi Sorry to reopen this issue but since i tried to re use my fine working optirun, nothing work :'(

At first i have this :
$ optirun glxgears
[ 110.379040] [ERROR]Cannot access secondary GPU – error: Could not load GPU driver
[ 110.379143] [ERROR]Aborting because fallback start is disabled.

So i checked google, and fine some topics on about my config file, then i got this :
$ optirun glxgears
[ 447.737274] [ERROR]The Bumblebee daemon has not been started yet or the socket path /var/run/bumblebee.socket was incorrect.
[ 447.737353] [ERROR]Could not connect to bumblebee daemon - is it running?

So I guess I changed many times the value and nothing !!!!
Even after a full re-installation....

Now i'm stuck, and could missed my sleep !! Nooo !!

here some info :

I got this strange :

  sudo apt-get install --reinstall linux-headers-generic bbswitch nvidia-current
Reading package lists... Done

It is sufficient to run:

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic
sudo dkms autoinstall -k `uname -r`

@NaKroTeK

sudo dkms autoinstall -k `uname -r`
