Grouping Palette Colors #36

As a palette designer, I would like to be able to group colors based on different criteria, so that I can obtain a different perspective about a palette as a whole.

Potential Groupings

Calculated Groupings

  • Hue
    • similarity: increase value to show fewer isolated colors (vice versa when decreased)
  • Color Family
    • reds, blues, greens, etc. (based on hue-to-family research)

User-defined Groupings

  • Tag
    • a Color has many Tags (colors may appear in more than one group)
  • Category
    • a Color belongs to zero or more Categories (some colors may be uncategorized)
