  • get EOBS data set
  • map comparing most recent, annual anomaly (2022)
  • map of most recent, seasonal anomalies (weight seasons by number of days)
  • map of monthly anomalies
  • time series of daily anomalies (see Fig. 6)

Issues

  • What mask is used for Europe? it does not seem to be any standard definition EOBS has reduced spatial coverage in Europe in 2022
  • Annual mean anomaly of 2021 is negative for EOBS in contrast to original figure where 2021 is positive
  • EOBS: annual cycle of daily climatologies exhibits jumps ? error in preprocessing created a wrong datetime coordinate which led to the computation of wrong quantiles;
  • EOBS: annual cycle of daily climatologies; smoothing required, what is the time window used for moving quantile?
