After an update of my outdated packages, ffmpeg stoped working and shows this message:

dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/local/lib/libx264.125.dylib
  Referenced from: /usr/local/bin/ffmpeg
  Reason: image not found

I have /usr/local/lib/libx264.142.dylib installed on my system and not 125 😭 . I already tried to remove and reinstall ffmpeg, but without any luck.

You can brew install ffmpeg --build-from-source or wait an hour while I update the bottles.

Thanks! Isn't there a system that prevents stuff like this?

Still getting this error after a fresh install on Yosemite. ffmpeg is installed with x264.142.dylib, but looks for libx264.125.dylib.

is there any fix for this?

Reinstalling ffmpeg should work.
