With Episode 300 JB has updated the rss feeds to come from: http://coder.show/rss
JB mentioned that the old feeds will forward so no functionality will break with the current release.

Definition of Done:
Coder Radio rss feeds use the new feed url: http://coder.show/rss

Some of the comments below basically explain the problem I was having and I am trying to think of how to do it, though you guys may come up with something before me ... basically the problem that I had (in my removed comments) was showing the new episodes and having the videos play, while still showing the older episodes but still having the videos play on the older episodes of certain shows.

I don't care nor should I (not my choice) if some of the older episodes of certain shows are "audio only" in some cases ... I just want to know that if i did make a change where the videos are not showing for those older episodes, that JB decided to not have those episodes in video and it wasn't a screw-up on my end, changing something wrong.

@Xmetalfanx,
I believe it was mentioned on a show, but the new feed is not backwords compatible so it only shows the 300+ episodes.

In the event that the old feeds are not going away, just not getting any new episodes published. We could use both and attempt to merge any duplicates. Also this change is happening most (if not all) shows. I'll add another issue for the rest of the shows and once we have a pattern figured out on how to handle the old/new feeds it should be pretty simple to update the rest.

@ChrisLAS,
What is the plan for the old episodes/feed? Will the existing feeds continue to work with all the old episodes while new ones will published to the updated feeds?

We do have the old feeds, but not easily accessible. The audio feeds are in better shape, with more back catalog. But the video feeds we did have to make a hard cut.

We could figure out a way to make the old feeds readable.. Or maybe its best to just make a hard cut?

I have been a bit busy/preoccupied to test stuff but I think I may have some time now. I just want to make sure I do things right so the new episodes are coming from the new feeds, and (here is where I wasn't sure) the older episodes are coming from the new feeds (IF it is setup to have the older episodes too) or just point to the old feeds for the back catalog.

I just want to make sure I read that correctly ... .are some of the older episode's video feeds "gone" now? .. I tested random old episodes and I just want to make sure that if the addon is set to video (and only PLAYS the audio) that the video "is gone" and not that the addon doesn't play the video due to a mistake I made, for the older episodes.

I do know that some shows like Coder Radio really mainly shows the IRC chat room so I am GUESSING that going audio only for older episodes is not a big deal, but I do remember OLD say Tech Snap episodes with @ChrisLAS and Allan where you guys are explaining something and brought say a website up on the screen ... I am not sure what you guys decided to do with those videos... I would ASSUME they should still be there but I am 100% guessing ... just if "we decided for space wise, even those episodes are audio only now"... then I know if i am testing something that the reason the videos are not displayed would be due to the older episode "archive" being audio-only now and not a mistake on my part

I think we do the hard cut as suggested. Lets move forward with the new rss feeds. It would be more work on the plugin and JB to attempt to meld the old and new together. If there is a big outcry of missing old episodes we can cross that bridge when we get there 😀

noting that other's do more of the heavy lifting on the addon, and I just do minor tweaks every so often ... I say its up to JB/ @ChrisLAS but I was not able to think of any good way that I COULD figure out to merge the two, together.

Then again you guys are more talented and may have come up with some idea that would work ... AND I know it's not my choice anyway, lol

remembering that I do not know how things are setup on JB's end ... the only way around this I can see that would (from the addon's end) be easy (maybe not on JB's side which may be a deciding factor not to do it) is have what is on the old feed, "moved" to the new feed's "location" .;.. that way the addon would only point to the new feed location but the old shows/formats of the old shows would not be lost so to speak. I think I may have said this already but in some cases like shows such as Coder Radio, it may not e a big deal (Chris/JB would have to decide this, of course) to drop video and only have the old shows in audio ... my thinking is that alot of the times, a show like that is basically Chris and Mike talking, with the video being the chat room showing ... if removing (so to speak) the video from that and it saves storage space on Chris/JB's side ... audio files would be smaller to keep the old episodes... again all of this is me thinking out loud, really
