The placeholder is not shown if the input type is password on firefox.

Which version of Firefox are you using? And on which OS?

I'm using Firefox 3.6.12 on Windows XP, Windows 7, Ubuntu and Fedora. It doesn't work on one of them.

I tried Firefox 3.6.12 on Ubuntu and 3.6.13 on Mac OS. In both cases it worked with password fields. Are you sure you are using the latest version (1.2 from 11/19/2010) which added support for password fields?

Yeah I'm sure. On IE it works fine..
