Level Up will be processed by the party sub automatically whenever somebody reaches the max amount of experience points. Since this game features an instant experience system, so the points are immediately awarded on all enemy kills, but experience gains are also possible by learning new spells/skills/abilities, and certain scenario events, so leveling up must be completely independent.

(This is also the case in my other RPG games, except the original version of Dyrt).
