I'm knocking off this topic off my to-do list. A lot of places don't fix bugs, hopefully you folks are an exception to that "rule".
I use HeidiSQL which in turn uses SynEdit according to ansgar. This is an issue I encountered four months ago however the forum thread contains test text that reproduces the issue, version 11.3 contains the issue and there is a version 12 release from him though he made it clear that the bug is caused upstream by SynEdit so I'm sure the test text on that forum thread using the latest version of HeidiSQL will still produce the error. I'm simply relaying this information so you folks are aware. I rarely deal with testing Unicode characters directly in SQL. Also I have no direct interaction with SynEdit here so I can only report the issue at best.
