I tried to use Decentraleyes with PaleMoon 26.5.0 + adblock latitude, and also with Firefox ESR 38.7.1 + adblock edge.
In both cases the browser hangs on page loading and has to be killed.
Adblock has to be disabled to have Decentraleyes usable.

@lambic12 Thank you for sharing your concerns! I will most definitely try to reproduce the potential issues with Adblock Latitude. Adblock Edge, however, has been discontinued by its author.

This seems to be an issue with EasyList. Removing EasyList and adding a different filter list fixed the issue for me. Had to try a few different filter lists before finding one that worked with Decentraleyes. Using Adblock Latitude on 27.1.1, no more problems. Perhaps someone should work on compiling the popular anti-ad anti-malware lists into a Decentraleyes-compatible filter list. Most filter lists have no organization to them whatsoever though, making them difficult to adapt. In the mean time, the list I'm using that works is Peter Lowe's List, and you can find more at filterlists.com if you are okay with a little trial-and-error.

@afdsgsg Many thanks for looking into this, and for sharing your findings! Awesome. I'll soon try to run some filter list comparisons, to try and find out where things go wrong for Adblock Latitude then.

This is the rule in EasyList which causes it:
@@/^((?!.*\.(amazonaws|cloudfront|mobicow|puhtml)\W?).)*$/$script,domain=uploadocean.com

I can reproduce the freeze 100% of times by enabling both AdBlock Latitude (with EasyList or a custom list with just this one rule) and Decentraleyes, and going to any Stack Exchange site (like http://stackoverflow.com/).

@rhinoduck Awesome! Thanks for finding the culprit. From what I can tell, this is a whitelist-rule that only applies to the domain uploadocean.com. Removing it should affect nothing but said domain.

Based on what we know, I'd suggest we go with one of the following options:

  • Set up a self-updating mirror that rewrites the rule into something that works.
  • Set up a self-updating mirror that removes the line from the original list.

The problem isn't completely solved.
With PaleMoon 26.5.0 + adblock latitude, and the uploadocean rule desactivated, most of the sites work at first. But sooner or later, Decentraleyes makes the browser freeze. Had to desactivate Decentraleyes to stop it :(

@lambic12 That's sad to hear, but thanks for reporting this! Would you be okay with emailing me a list of domains that cause Pale Moon to freeze up when using this add-on alongside Adblock Latitude?

Many sites freeze during the loading time. Some of them finally load... but when I ask for the list of blockable items in Adblock latitude, the client freezes again and really severely.
