Hi,
Having finally (thanks, Traumflug) got the PCB open, i was reading through the wiki when i noticed that there was a chip on the pcb file which was not shown on the installation walkthrough, and which did not have any mounting holes visible in the walkthrough? The chip was just 'under' the 14 pin socket, and next to what appears to be the USB connector. it looks like its the chip to control the USB port, but would just like to double check?
Thanks, and sorry to be such a nuisance

What is an "installation walkthrough"?

Yes, there's an SMD chip on the solder side. It's the MCP2200, an USB - Serial converter. See third picture here: http://reprap.org/wiki/Gen7_Board-AVR_1.5#Assembly_in_Detail

Hi,
The installation walkthrough is the instruction list; in the wiki there's a step by step guide of how to put the components in.
Ok, thank you for the clarification

Looks like you found the one for v1.4.1, which didn't have this chip. For v1.5 I kept these instruction rarther short (making them is lots of work and you have to start over on every tiny change).

Alright, thanks. Going to be making it so i can take photos and put it on the wiki.
