Can this code be replaced with normal CSS styles?

It's been a little while, but IIRC this was needed to properly place and size the dropdown for enum values (see this code).

I think this had something to do with compiling and adding elements to body dynamically. I actually put a bounty on this SO question, but never got a satisfactory.

I might be in Nashville (yea I checked you profile) sometime in 2018... if you can fix this I'll hit you up and buy you a beer!
