Description

This repository includes all the code and example data for the analysis performed for the manuscript Multiple forms of hotspots of tetrapod biodiversity and the challenges of open-access data scarcity, which is due to appear in Scientific Reports. Analyses include calculation of hotspots of species richness, endemism and threatened species (number and proportion) at multiple spatial resolutions, estimation of species-richness standardised for sampling coverage, calculation of inventory completeness per grid-cell, spatial correlations between hotspots, and evaluation of hotspot congruence.

Analyses

  1. Biodiversity metrics calculation
  2. Estimation of species-richness
  3. Hotspots congruence
  4. Identification of 'areas of ignorance'
  5. Spatial correlations
  6. Congruence with protected areas

You may find the example datasets used for the analyses in the data folder and the plots generated within the scripts in the figures folder.
