Known Issues
In addition to any open http://github.com/bloomberg/bde/issues in the BSL issue tracker, below are some additional http://github.com/bloomberg/bde/issues that may experienced on some platforms while building, testing or using BSL.
- Virtualization causes bsls_atomic.t cases 7/8 to appear to hang
When these test cases are run in a virtual machine, they
run very slowly, to the point that they appear to be
hung. In fact they are progressing, but are proceeding so slowly
that they will take more than 24 hours to complete. This behavior
has been seen in both VirtualBox and VMware Player, on both
GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows host platforms. For this reason, a filter
has been defined in tools/test_filter.py to skip these test cases when
executed on a virtual machine, which can be activated by specifying the
HOST=VM environment variable to the build process.
