Text::MultiMarkdown does not convert the links in this string to HTML at all:

This is a normal link: Google.com_normal link with protocol and formatting.. Put carriage return after this line.
Link 2: Normal link no protocol. This has inline code. More inline code.

Well darn, Git converted it correctly. Now I'll have to escape the special chars.
