When the FreePBX Core module (Admin > Module Admin > Applications > Core) is upgraded, the SCCP Extensions tab disappears from Applications > Extensions.

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Install the FreePBX 16 distro from March 2022
  2. Install chan_sccp
  3. Install SCCP Manager
  4. Use the GUI or command line to upgrade the Core module from 16.0.57 to 16.0.63

SCCP Manager version: Release 14.5.0.4

chan-sccp version: Release: 4.3.5 develop - c1533a6

asterisk version: Asterisk 16.25.0 (also affects Asterisk 18.x)

Workaround
Re-install SCCP manager from the command line (fwconsole ma install sccp_manager) after the Core module upgrade.

Core module was upgraded to 15.0.22.

Re-installing SCCP manager did not restore the SCCP Extensions tab in this case

I have found that the only way to "re-hook" the SCCP manager is to uninstall it completely, and reinstall it. Unfortunately, the bad side effect of this is that it will wipe out all SCCP extensions, disconnecting them. The DB must be restored or you must re-add all extensions. But, after a period of time, the SCCP manager tab will eventually disappear.

Hello - we have version 16.0.40.4 of FreePBX installed with Sccp Manager v14.5.0.4 also installed for our legacy cisco phones. The sccp manager has stopped working. There used to be a tab included in extension application manager to add an sccp phone. This no longer appears. I can add an extension using sccp manager, which sets the device type correctly, however, after saving the device, it doesn't appear in sccp manager to link a device to it. It appears in extension application manager but I cannot do anything with it. Are these two versions compatible?

Unfortunately, it appears no one seems to be maintaining the sccp_manager repo anymore, as there have not been any changes made in quite some time. At this point I would consider this module deprecated. I have experienced this same issue in FreePBX 15 and nothing has been done with it.

Best thing I can suggest to you is get a Cisco router if you need to keep your Cisco phones running as SCCP endpoints. You can easily integrate and register them as SIP extensions proxied through your router to your FreePBX system while still using them as SCCP phones. Depending on the model you're using (7940/7960/7975), there are also SIP firmwares available for these models. If you're running the 78xx/88xx phones you would need a router.
