bbb-Info.txt contains information about the BeagleBone Black operating
system and general-purpose input/output (GPIO) pin use.
BeagleBone Black Information
-----------------------------------
The BeagleBone Black (BBB) is running Arch Linux ARM.
This may be downloaded at http://archlinuxarm.org/
The Arch Linux ARM website also gives installation
instructions.
The system is loaded with the base Arch Linux ARM
operating system with the following additional
packages installed:
fftw
make
gcc
The following files are edited to allow additional
GPIO access, as well as to autorun the tuning sequence:
~/.bashrc - This automatically connects the BBB
to the internet and runs autostart.sh
/boot/uEnv.txt - This file "unloads" the HDMI cape
that automatically loads on powerup.
In order to see this file, the boot
partition (generally mmcblk0p1) must
be mounted.
Add the following line to uEnv.txt:
optargs=quiet capemgr.disable_partno=BB-BONELT-HDMI,BB-BONELT-HDMIN
/etc/systemd/system/getty@tty1.service.d/autologin.conf
- This file allows automatically logging
into Arch Linux, which allows ~/.bashrc
to be sourced automatically. This file
contains the following:
[Service]
ExecStart=
ExecStart=-/usr/bin/agetty --noclear --autologin root %I 38400 linux
These commands log in the user "root"
on startup. This is used to run any
code that requires root in autostart.sh.
All of these files are located in this Github repository under "files", and
need only be moved to their proper location.
