How to use 'sky-remote' node.js module with webhooks GET request #13
Comments
Have you looked at this, works for skyHD, to make it work with skyQ would be a very simple change... |
Thanks for the suggestion, but I don’t have a Raspberry Pi device – and I’m not going to get one...
I was looking for a ‘reasonably simple’ way to get my existing devices (Google Home mini, Android 7 phone) to control my Sky Q box
Ideally I don’t want a raspberry pi or any other device hanging off my network to do that
As I said I’m not a programmer, just an interested consumer...
So I *THINK* I have managed to install the node.js module on my Android phone using advice from Youtube videos and a terminal emulator app called ‘Termux’
It went along the lines of
Running Termux on android device
At the $ command prompt...
apt update
apt upgrade
apt install nodejs
apt install git
apt clone https://github/[repository name].git
apt install [repository name]
Obviously the http:// address was the full address of the github repository
I got replies at each command that seemed ok...
What I need to know now is how to call the script from an IFTTT Webhooks (Maker) command on my Android phone? If that is possible?
Thanks

Did anyone have and luck or make progress with Google Home Integration? I have the commands successfully working on a Raspberry Pi, but I cannot get my head around of Getting Google Home to initiate the commands from the Pi. Any help would be appreciated 👍 |

Hi I am trying to use Google assistant (and my Google home) to control my sky q box via voice commands
I want to use IFTTT website, which activates on Google assistant call e.g. 'Hey Google Turn on SkyQ' which then triggers a Webhooks HTTP call to your application... which i can type in url, type, body (get, post etc...)
I found your sky-remote interface on git hub. And watching YouTube videos i think i have installed the sky-remote.js package using termux app
However i am not a programmer and i can't work out how to call your application using a webhooks web request. Can you help me?
Sorry for stupid questions and thanks in advance
