Where are the controls??

I just put all the files in place without changing anything, and I have 2 questions - 1) Where are the controls? I want users to be able to move around, next, previous, pause. The script definitely says controls TRUE, but they're not there. 2) Where is the red underline coming from under the Announcement title? I'd like to use a different color but couldn't find it.
