Stack overflow when inserting.

Inserting as little as 40000 elements into a single table causes stack-overflow on my machine. Here is a minimalistic example.

But I am not sure whether it's still an issue ~1 year later.

Not much has been done with tables in the meantime, so it probably still matters.
