The reviewing editor had this to say:

You need to work on your preferences window, though. It doesn't look good on Mac OS, where the button column has some buttons cut off at the sides, because Mac OS buttons have lots of padding. At any rate it'd be best that you used a more standard XUL control, like a tabpanel.

I use tabpanels and am confused.

First, ask someone for a screencap on OSX to see what it looks like. I imagine that simply making the window/tabs bigger should fix it for now.

descriptions changed to labels where necessary.
Got rid of a lot of fixed widths, so window is wider, might help with #247.
