The GitHub Pages Gem is intended to help users replicate the GitHub Pages build environment locally. If your issue affects both the hosted version and the version previewed locally, you may be better suited reporting seeking support in other forums.

What did you do (e.g., steps to reproduce)

I followed the installation steps up and including 'bundle exec jekyll serve'.

What did you expect to happen?

The site to be served.

What happened instead?

Conversion error: Jekyll::Converters::Scss encountered an error while converting 'assets/main.scss':
end of file reached

It's impossible to help you without a link to the source. My first check would be to see if all the Sass files (including imports) are present, especially for your theme if you're using one.
