janky scrolling in qt5 build (compared with qt4)?

If I view the Wikipedia entry for say Hannibal

in the latest qt4 build, I get a very nice smooth scrolling experience. Switch to qt5, and the scrolling become janky and slow (almost feel like one of those bugs where the page is being overwhelmed with a huge number of wheel events)

Can anyone else reproduce this?

I'm scrolling using a touchpad on a dell XPS laptop. OS is Win10.

If I downgrade back to qt4 I get back the nice scrolling experience.

I'm using an old enough dell XPS laptop. The scrolling experience is normal when using the touchpad on baord.
GD is built with Qt-5.15.12/QtWebKit, Mingw-W64, and GCC-13.2, Win10 x64.
