Maybe they abandoned because there weren't many people using, so it was waste of money. But I think it was later lack of interest in Google's part.

But for someone who doesn't like to use Java too much, it's bad news really. That language the more evolves, trash it becomes. I wonder, when it was so good...

C++ was and will always be great programming language, regardless of what people say.
