Steps to reproduce:

  1. In Windows 10 (64bit, all updates installed), visit https://www.google.com/get/noto/#emoji-qaae-color and download NotoColorEmoji-unhinted.zip (Direct link: https://noto-website-2.storage.googleapis.com/pkgs/NotoColorEmoji-unhinted.zip)
  2. Preview/Install the font.

Actual result:
The file cannot be opened. See attachment.
notocoloremoji_error

Expected result:
The file works like other fonts found in the page.

P.S. I have read the readme about Noto Color Emoji and it seems that I have to build the color emoji font myself. But I don't have any programming background so I don't know how to do it myself and give the Noto Font website a try. If the NotoColorEmoji.ttf isn't intended to be installed successfully, it should be pulled from the webpage.

Thanks for the explanation.
A remark for Windows users on the website would be appreciated to avoid confusions and duplicate bug reports.
